About the Organization:
God Save The Underground is a small time independently ran music fanzine in south Georgia. We do reviews and articles on punk, hardcore, metal and really any other genre of band we happen to like.

Background:
One day I was at the now legendary abandoned hotel on the outskirts of the dangerously boring streets of North West notfiT (my hometown). I had my spray paint and I was tagging the walls to celebrate my soon coming graduation from high school. I was thinking about the Sex Pistols "Nevermind The Bollocks" when I made up a cool phrase that referenced "God Save The Queen". I liked it so much that I decorated two or three walls with that phrase before I went home and forgot what the phrase was.
Fastforward to the following winter. I just got home from the tech school and my mom hands me a news paper and says "You did this trash didn't you?" and sure enough I find that my tags had made it to the front page. Needless to say, I was verry proud and not too ashamed at all. Unfortunately the paper said the city was paying to destroy the abandoned hotel. Which meant that my tax dollars where paying to destroy my hangout spot. Sucks.
Fast forward again to spring. My band has just broken up for all the normal reasons that small time bands breakup for. Now I'm verry bored and don't have anywhere to go or anyone to jam with. One day in class while reading Maximumrocknroll it suddenly dawned on me that I should try and start my own punk zine. But what would I call it? Once again i remembered my phrase that made the front page of the newspaper. And I decided to name my zine "God Save The Underground".
