Bio:
Anarchoi was formed by Jordan R(vocals), Dave G(guitar) and Scars G(Bass) in late 2002 with the addition of Nat on Drums. With influences like Conflict, Crass, Discharge, Icons of Filth, and Aus-Rotten Anarchoi set out to bring activism back into Australian punk.
In January of 2003 they recorded their first work with 'The First Incitement' EP. A limited number of CD?s were put out by the band, and the release quickly went out of print.
In April of 2003 drummer at the time Nat decided to part ways with the band. The band continued to gig with a series of temporary drummers through-out the year playing a series of shows with local, interstate and international bands.
In November of 2003 Anarchoi took on a full time drummer by the name of James. The band then returned in March 2004 for the Sydney leg of the R.A.M.B.O Australasian Tour with a set of new songs, and a new approach.
Due to this a free demo was recorded and released under the name 'You Don't Have To Steal This CD...It's Free'. Again a limited number of copies were made by the band, and again the release went out of print quickly. To combat this problem the release was later made available in mp3 format from the Anarchoi website it its entirety.
In November of 2004 Anarchoi were to find another new full time recruit. Long time friend Dylan joined on guitar to beef up the guitar section and to bring some new ideas into the mix.
So with the bands line-up at full strength Anarchoi attacked 2005 head on. With an array of headline shows all year round and an east coast tour with Holland?s Vitamin X coming up the band decided to take a break and record some new tracks. The tracks were to be used as a demo for the upcoming and much anticipated debut full length album. The tracks were released as mp3's. Again free and in their entirety, they were available via the Anarchoi website.
In November of 2005 Anarchoi hit the road with Vitamin X. The tour covered the East Coast of Australia with shows in Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane. This was the bands first taste of touring, and even though the tour was organised by themselves and was 100% DIY it was a great success. The band ended 2005 with a performance at Belladonna DIY Festival.
With 2006 now in the cross hairs Anarchoi are more focused than ever with a new album on the way, and plans for another Australian tour and an International tour.
Some bands Anarchoi have performed with include: Vitamin X (Holland), R.A.M.B.O (USA), Anti-Nowhere League (UK), Dayglo Abortions (Canada)
