Bio:
Suave Gap consists of Costas Mastrogiannis(guitar ,vocals),George"Bat man"Dafopoulos (bass guitar) and Dennis"Deaky"Katso ulias (drums, backing vocals).Besides being members of the same band, Costas, Giorgos and Deaky have been good friends for many years. This underlies the fact that they are still together, after all this time.Suave Gap was formed in the 90s as a result of three young mens love for Punk Rock, a type of music widely known on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean yet at the same time widely unfamiliar in their own country. The music of the Ramones as well as the work of artists such as Dookie from Green Day (who in 1993 wrote the most representative as well as commercial pop punk album to this day),were the inspiration for their formation. Soon they began writing their own music and making live appearances. In 1997 the band records its first demo and after receiving an invitation from the Peterhouse University (through a friend who lived in Cambridge), they give their first live show abroad, at the Universitys summer dance along with local British bands. In 1998 Suave Gap sign their first contract with a newly established indie record company.During the same year their first single Second Thoughts is released with the support of Rock FM. The band continues to appear live, however the long expected recording of their album did not take place. Substantial differences between the band members and the record company on the promotion of the bands music resulted in the end of their collaboration with the company in 1999. During 2000-2001, Suave Gap record a new demo which includes 6 new songs. They seek a new home for their music, and at the same time continue to give live shows for the next 2 years. At the end of 2003, a music producer suggests to the band that they give a song for the advertising spot of a widely known soft drink. Suave Gap accept the challenge and Want You Back becomes the soundtrack of the ad. All the above takes place in 2004, the year of the Olympic Games in Athens. The cd single is released by Pace Records/ Universal and the video is shown on TV.The mainstream audience begins to notice the band and Suave Gap continue playing live, with peak performances the ones at Water Plaza, the park of the Olympic sponsors, for four days in front of hundreds of people...In 2005 they sign a contract with Plus (+) Rec/ Universal Music and start recording their new cd "Twenty-Four Seven", which includes 11 songs in music and lyrics by Costas & Deaky,as well as a punk cover of the famous hit of the 80s Together in Electric Dreams by Giorgio Moroder...At this time, Suave Gap are trying to make their music better known & introducing their work to audiences abroad...Stay tuned
