Bio:
My Penis formed in 2001 from the soiled remains of a pop-culture concert venue out of the lofty ambition to "get the drummer laid." Dozens of shows, two albums, and countless drinks in the face later, the mission remains the same. Despite rampant censorship (One weekly paper censored the band's name to "My P****," while printing a half-page ad for "The Vagina Monologues" on the facing page,) the band has stuck hard and fast to its root value of celebrating the obnoxious iconoclasm in youthful male societal roles.
My Penis has recorded a demo with a Grammy nominated artist (Frank, guitarist of Black Uhuru) and performed diverse shows throughout Upstate NY and Massachusetts... a few bars, a bowling alley, a coffeehouse, a laundromat, skateparks, a movie theatre, a private club, and a 23,000 seat amphitheater. Song topics include literary references (Just Like Bukowski, Ruined For Poetry), war (Stan is Afghan), society (Nothing is Sacred, TV, No Difference) and club scene hookups (Bull, Swizzle Stick, Dream Come True Shattered (You're an Ass), Gobble De Goo), the music industry (Basement Bound, Still Not Done), failed relationships (Nothing to Do, Find Me a Woman Before I Explode, Dumpster) and general depravity (Pictures of Your Mom, Lowlands, I Take Drugs Not Prescribed For Me)
The beat is fast, the playing is furious, the flailing is dangerous, ...stand back... make room for My Penis.
