BAND: The Vamps

Bio:
The Vamps are an all female punk band that stand against drugs, sexism, racism, and tons of other things. They started out with nothing. It all started out with banging spoons on tables and using a cheap crappy bass. The Vamps struggled for a year or two finding members that were willing to give their all into being in a band...they couldn't find anyone that would dedicate themselves. But that never stopped them from finding people! Being in the middle of nowhere, it was hard to find kids into playing punk music. Finally they found everyone they needed, and they were on their way...they started playing shows in the local area and got stuff thrown at them during performances, lots of crap talked about em, but that never stopped them. They kept pressing on for the few kids out there that still supported them. Soon their name extended out to the bay area and the name caught some fire. About a year and some odd months later, their name was spread all over the place thanks to the friends and people that supported them. (Big thanks to LEA WEIRD!!) Although alot of people like our music and stuff, some people would love to push us out of the bay area. Especially the east bay. They don't like us. Oh well. We sure as hell didn't start this band to win a punk rock popularity contest did we?
Stop saying that we're a ripp off of The Devotchkas. We sound nothing like them, nor do we want to. If anything, your mom is a ripoff of The Devotchkas.

DEFINITION OF "VAMPS", IT'S A 1920'S TERM THAT WAS GIVEN TO WOMEN DURING ONE OF THE FIRST WOMENS RIGHTS MOVEMENTS. IT DOESN'T MEAN VAMPIRE, DUUUUUUMBAASS. WOMEN WE'RE REFERED TO AS "VAMPS" OR "FLAPPERS" (but the flappers would be a lame bandname), WHEN THEY LEFT THE HOUSEHOLD, DID WHAT THEY WANTED, WORE WHAT THEY WANTED, AND WENT WHERE THEY WANTED AND STOPPED BEING SLAVES TO MEN. AND THAT, IS THE DEFINITION OF OUR BANDNAME. WHEN PEOPLE THINK OUR BANDNAME OF AS VAMPIRES, IT MAKES US WANNA SHOOT OURSELVES...OR RATHER YET, YOU.

These are really just bands we enjoy listening to. What really influences us is shown in our lyrics... our inspiration is how fucked up this world is.. if the world was perfect we wouldnt have a purpose!
