Bio:
What started on January 1st 1990 as a musicall guerrilla against increasing boredom has evolved into one of the Netherlands best know punk groups Die Nakse Bananen (Those naked Bananas). Loved, hatred, adored, threatened, made ridiculous, value dated, remarked and neglected, Die Nakse Bananen has seen and experienced it all. Everywhere Die Nakse Bananen turns up, something is happening and mostly parents dislike it!
Since the very first second Die Nakse Bananen had achieved an established reputation. Chaos and a non-conformist attitude forces everyone to take a stand: you are pro or con, there is no in between.
Die Nakse Bananen revives the good old punk spirit of once upon a time without repeating with nostalgic sentimental bullshit. Those who said goodbye to punk or lost punk out of sight, they rediscovered punk at a Die Nakse Bananen concert.
The mixture of all kinds of punk and variations lets beat many hearts faster, makes you to consume extraordinary loads of beer and/or chocomelk on the rocks (Straight Edge), makes you search for old Dead Kennedys, GBH, Exploited, Sex Pistols, Discharge, Napalm Death, Stooges, Boegies, Toy Dolls and Andre Hazes vinyl records, forces you to neurotic banging your balls against a concrete wall, well you realise you are alive!
With the release of the demo "De Nieuwe Bezetting" (the new line up / the new occupation) the first counter fact of an almost new line-up was presented. After tributes to several compilation tapes and cds the mini cd "Bummer '99" announced the end of civilisation. The release party, almost broke a local record (212 paying spectators) for another local group which has something to present in the Vlerk club in Rotterdam.
Gigs in the entire inlands of Western Europe (the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France) took place in big and small venues, squad places, barns and major-NON-dependent extremely sponsored clubs.
"Untitled" was released in October 2001. On this album Die Nakse Bananen sounds more various as ever before.
And as self-willed as Die Nakse Bananen is, it was released by the band itself.
And then it seemed to be very quiet around the band. Well, thing is might look what they really are. The band practised on lot of new combat techniques. And a new campaign has been declared for 2006: we are going bananas!
And for those who do not know: Punx not dead, you only just forgot it, suckers!
