Bio:
February 1998 marks the date of conception of Catania based band None of
Us.
In the beginning the line-up featured 5 members of diverse musical
background and influence: Davide Mavica (Voice); Dario Casabona
(Guitar), Giuseppe Zuccarello (Bass), Karmelo Russo (Synth and Sampler),
Daniele Quaceci (Drums). Such formation resulted in a powerful blend of
alternative rock and crossover, mixing dark and distorted attitudes that
finally gained its shape in August'99 with their first PromoCD
'Loading..', which included 3 tracks.
In the same year, the group giged italian clubs to promote 'Loading'.
After that the band came back to the studio, spending its time composing
new material.
In 2001 None Of Us endured changes in its sound as two new members were
substituted in the band introducing Filippo Basile on guitar and
Marcello Sorge on drums. Their fresh influence gave new prospects for
the group's activity while the new material was guided by fronman Davide
Mavica's intuition. The new line-up took part in the second edition of
"Suburban Live Set" at Catania's well renown club - Taxi Driver and
spent the summer of 2002 playing live from which clearly emerged the
band's live attitude and the increasing agreement of fans.
October 2002 saw None Of Us entering the studio once again to record
their second PromoCD 'Twice Again'. The four tracks outline a slightly
different trend going through sounds of emo matrix, infused melodic
openings and interlacing, that are joint in an outburst of distorted
anger.
On March 2003, Fabio D'agata replaces Marcello Sorge on drums and NOU
start a promotional period for 'Twice Again' which brings them to be
keenly reviewed by many of Italy's specialized webzines and magazines.
The band takes part in the cd compilation 'Music Against Itself' with
the song 'Cold' released on June 2003 by Babylon Magazine webzine,
together with Browbeat, Unwelcome and Fuzz Fuzz Machine.
On September 2003 None Of Us sign a Master Management/Licence contract
with Redled Records, a young italian label, for the release of a split
album (released December 2003) together with the band 1ne day., and
distributed by Self, the third italian distribution company.
Soon after this work, the band encountered yet another change as
founding member Daniele Quaceci reclaimed his place on drums.
Janaury of the new year (2004) opened the 'Hangar18' tour, leading the
band throughtout Italy with a real emotional and energetic show, and the
track 'So far' is included in the cd sampler of important alternative
magazine 'PSYCHO!'.
Progressively, the split album REDLED VOL.2 None Of Us/1neday collects
excellent reviews on the best italian magazines and webzines (Psycho!,
Rumore, Idbox, Hatetv, Kronic, Babylon Magazine, Disintegration,
Musicboom, Metalmaniacs and many more), moreover on March 2004 the band
is invited by alternative cable music station 'RockTv', appearing in the
transmission 'DATABASE'.
On May 2004,"HATETV" webzine includes the track 'Twice Again' in a
compilation called 'Hate Tv Kufia', downladable for free on
www.hatetv.it.
On July 2004, NOU are special guests at 'ETNIKA ROCK FESTIVAL', that
takes place near Rome, as gig openers for Italian power alternative
rockers LINEA77.
On August 2004, 'PSYCHO!' magazine dedicates the band an exclusive
entire page interview.
At present the band is still on tour until june 2005. On march 2005, NOU
signed an agreement with
Alkemist-Fanatix , a new italian promotional agency, which will take care
of all promotional and management aspects of None of us's first
full-lenght release album, whose recording sessions will start on
september '05. The album will be released early 2006 and will be guided
by Carlo Bellotti from GF93, one of the most important and versatile
figures of italian metal/alternative scene, as Art Director.
