Bio:
It all started in the summer of 2002 my little brother (James is 12 years younger than me) came to me with a book of song lyrics and said he wanted to put together a band. We started putting songs together on the weekends. We called the project HDI with James(Vocals & Base) ,Chuck (Percussion), and Me (Rythm Guitar & Lead Guitar). After about six months we decided that we sounded really bad. Every Weekend turned into every other weekend, then once a month. Something had to be done. Are songs were great, but the performance left alot to be desired.
At the begining of 2006 we had not praticed together for at least a year. James was practiceing his vocal training and getting better. We decided it was time for a new project, Backdrop Misery which is in it's infant stage at this time.
The Recording process
Recently we went from a Tascam four track tape to recording directly onto the pc. The idea of infanant takes and tracks is so nice. Unlike the four track on the pc each vocal track does not add another layer of whitenoise. Punch in and out is much more accurate and simple. Recording directly on the pc means that each track can be filtered individually or have effects added after it is recorded, giving it a much better sound.
Special Thanks:
Doug G. for our HDI Photo
