History: Step by step
In 1993 they recorded a demo with four items, two of which ( "Reflection" and "Korean Boys"), comprising the salad "Creatures of the Swamp," edited by the independent label Perro Andaluz. In that same year he starred in the video clip of the theme "Reflection", which is awarded in the Film and Video Festival in Lima, Peru.
In November of that same year they recorded their first CD, "Health, Money, Money," which has 11 items that accurately reflect the style of the band at that time: a mixture of rocanrol with some punk and rockabilly. The record goes on sale in early'94, through the seal Route 66 and quickly running out. They choose as a topic for disseminating "Move you Move", which recorded a video that was exhibited by the Latin American Mtv chain. During 1994 playing in Montevideo and the interior along with national bands like vultures, La Tabare and others. In November the band were chosen to open the show, The Ramones, in his only visit to Uruguay. The recital, held at the Palais des Peñarol before 6,000 people, is his first appearance before a massive audience and a milestone in the career of the band.
In 1995 Ignatius Guasch and Marcelo Abreu left the group, making it a quartet with the addition of Philip DiStefani (former Urban Guerrilla and Puticlub) at the bottom. During that year the tour performed "Epidemic Sónica" throughout the interior, and closed the year with two concerts at the Factory, the first with The Supersónicos and the second with 2 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare the recording of his second CD.
In early 1996, he recorded "Class B" for the Orfeo label. The disc, recorded at Studio Record with Alejandro Merola and mastered in Buenos Aires in the study Del Garden, has 18 items that accentuate the musical influences of the band more punks. Matizado versions of musicians as disparate as Nino Bravo ( "A kiss and a flower" and "Your change") and Johnny Thunders ( "Do I love me" and "I want to be loved"), the CD. Has its strongest side in the subjects themselves, shorter and faster results, structures and arrangements closer to pop. This disc is by two video clips: the aforementioned "A kiss and a flower" and "Your place." One company with images of the film "Man of Walter" (directed by Carlos conduct national Ameglio), the subject integrates the soundtrack of the film. In April 1997, participating in the first edition of Rock Here and later in Rock ERA in two recitals along with other local bands and Argentina. This year Philip Di Stefani leaves the band, being replaced by Nicolas Pequera. They spend most of the year to compose themes for its third disc, and since November returned to the stage in Montevideo, playing in pubs, places where the band enjoys more, by close contact with the public.
After dismissing the year playing in the third edition of Circus and alongside vultures in Zorba of Solymar, spent the summer of 1998 the composition of new items. Earlier this year, Trotsky signing contract with Polygram Records (Universal), becoming the first band style to move to integrate the catalogue of a multinational label. After participating in the festival Rock'n ROU, at the Teatro de Verano, the band travels to Buenos Aires, where in July and August recorded her third CD "I was not," produced by former GIT Paul Guyot and recorded in the From the studies Abasto Grass, where he also recorded bands like Riff, and Almafuerte Fabulosos Cadillacs. The record goes on sale in mid-'99. It contains fourteen issues that continue the line of his previous work, exhibiting a clear shift towards genres like Hardcore'90y of Ska Punk, influenced by the Ramones eternal, as well as groups such as Green Day, Rancid, NOFX and The Offspring. It includes a new version of his classic "Move you move" and a cover of the theme of Cano and the Bulldogs "On a wet glass."
After returning to the country shared the stage with 77 in Attack Chopper and continue playing in the circuit of pubs. In September are the support band The Intruders & Marky Ramone, drummer for the band The Ramones, who invites them to climb the stage at the end of his show for playing the classic "I want to be sedated" invitation to be repeated in the show The Intruders in the city of Buenos Aires.
During the first months of the year'99, the band is dedicated to travel the circuit of pubs in the city of Montevideo, playing steadily from March to June, which comes out to the street "I was not." The album, long awaited by the public of the band, exhausted its first edition in just one month. From this disc are filmed two clips, produced entirely by the band. The themes chosen are "you" and "Touching background," two new songs which are a classic part of its repertoire. During the remainder of 1999 are dedicated to appear in Montevideo and the interior, closing the year with a presentation at the Circus and a memorable recital at Arteatro.
In the early months of 2000 to begin composing the themes that will integrate its fourth disc, which again recorded in the studies from Abasto, Bs. Ace. The disc has the artistic production of James Roos, containing amongst other things, versions of "Once more" de Roos, and "Police on my back", a subject that interpreting the Clash, and that Trotsky devotes all Uruguayan soccer swollen leading bands of rocanrol rags. The disc ends burning in Montevideo, the study Camposónico, Juan Campodónico, in the months of October, November and December. During this year are teloneros the German band Die Toten Hösen in its unique presentation in Montevideo.
In early 2001, Nicholas Pequera left the band and was replaced by Hector Souto, and while the new study is mixed by James Roos, Daniel Baez in the studies Octopuss, the band is dedicated to testing the new code of "Sleeping Outside" , edited by Uruguayan Koala Records label.
In the 2002 sale "Anything Contrary" what is already a production entirely Trotsky. Continued style punk, fights for love, gone to the stadium and with the addition of a strong influence of the crisis afflicting the country at the time. No doubt the band is strong and growing this record and reaffirmed their followers.
Trotsky has remained all these years loyal to his style of rock fast, simple and direct, and has a loyal audience that accompanies them at all levels and that it has been possible to keep them active all these years.

Influences:
From the outset decided to practise a direct and heavy rock, with influences from bands like The Ramones, AC / DC, Beastie Boys, and bands of'50 and'60. For that reason, they have been invited to play alongside bands like: The Ramones, Marky Ramone & The Intruders (drummer for the band The Ramones), 2 minutes, Divided, Attack 77 and German band Die Toten Hösen, among others
