Bio:
The Logan just completed a marathon tour of the west, mountain, and Midwest USA regions during the spring of 2008. At this time, The Logan is gearing up for a 2 week rock excursion with Norwegian Hardcore Butt-Kickers TURDUS MUSICUS. This will be for the west and mountain regions during August (9th through 22nd) 2008.
BASH!, the title of The Logan's second offering, is meant to fulfill many levels. Most important of these levels, is the gelling of the current two-piece into a whisky-punk-rock sound that is both coercive and fluid: the many colliding sounds forming a new front-wall of sound that matures beyond their first album, Taking the Sun with You. Still sticking to many of the thematic roots, The Logan provides its political opinions and positive message, this time, spliced with stories of love, betrayal, and life left-of-center.
Only a year removed from playing their first concert, The Logan has pushed far and wide to strike an original sound, presentation, and message. Like the marathon rehearsals used to inspire the songs on BASH!, the record swoops in and out of punk rock themes, blending in a sometimes lonely piano with a melancholy acoustic guitar to create an album with a painted vision in mind for the listener. Fist raising group anthems still have the substance of a personal 'me to you' letter.
"I'm a pretty hopeful guy, with idyllic views on how life can be," explains Conor, the lead singer, "but then again, I can also be pretty torn up about what's going on right in front of me." Present time anxiety mixed with big-picture dreaming certainly comes through on tracks like Clothes Make the Man and With the Wheels on Fire.
The Logan would like to thank Paper Mache for the time spent together touring during Spring 2008. Traveling together in a vehicle running off the waste fryer oil from restaurants, their joint goal was to bring their music to the nation, while showing that it all can be done with the common public good and health of the planet in mind. This was fully realized, and fans of The Logan became fans of Paper Mache, and vise versa - proving that musical boundaries have nothing on positive messages, good music, and good friendships....
