BAND: 50 WAYS TO KILL ME
50 WAYS TO KILL ME
Bio:
Sometime in the late 90s i had a girlfriend and i downloaded a music program and made some songs to make her laugh about ways that i could kill myself. It was just a joke. Obviously one day we broke up because any person is just going to slow me down and each day i find more and more that i dont need people. But after loosing her, all I had left to live for was my music. Ive been creating music that sounds this same style I have since 1995 but didnt start doing it under the name 50 Ways To Kill Me until the year 1999, the year with an upside down 666. 50wtkm experimented with many line-up changes containing bass and guitar players playing over instrumentals on a CD playing through a PA system but after experimenting with different line-ups the only one that could work out is just me and the CD player as a one-man band singing over the instrumentals. So after wasting years of trying to get a full band together 50wtkm finally played the first performance in a garage with about 20 people there in 2003 as a one-piece. Like i said, people will only slow me down so 50wtkm is like a one man band. That same year, the ORIGINAL versions of the self titled full length and the morning star ep were released. These original versions were more DIY then the later versions which were released in full-colour by a small label from Texas called fecal-matter discorporated. These original versions looked very different. I used to climb into the dumpster behind the movie store and recover thrown out DVD cases and i would put my albums out in these recycled DVD cases. At this point in time my friend had a job at a place with a copying machine so i used to give him the master templates and a stack of old high school and college homework (i dropped out since I believe the world ends in 2012) and on the back he would photocopy the album covers and booklets for me. Putting these cds together by myself, cutting out the covers, and selling them only a dollar each i sold about 500 copies between both releases in my local long island area and in New York City.

Though similar, not one copy was identical. Many copies included my personal pubic hair, notes demanding to call me with my phone number, and even some of my blood while other copies may have not even had the booklet which included the song order. Before I started playing inside of real venues, I mostly played the instrumentals blasting with a car stereo and sang the lyrics either through a megaphone or just as loud as I could, and then I would sell the merchandise right out of the trunk. I not only had these CDs for sale, I also had t-shirts for sale that were made from stolen blank shirts and stolen silk screen kits.

When I first started 50wtkm, grindcore music was the farthest thing from my mind and i thought 50wtkm would never have anything to do with grindcore even though i have been listening to grindcore since i was 14 or 15 years old. now as a coincidence, lots of grindcore fans across the planet that couldnt hold a steady band together like myself, create music on their own, with the same music software that I use, and they call it cybergrind which is supposed to be grindcore made on the computer, and over the years 50wtkm has done many split releases with these new cybergrind bands from around the globe. however, the first split release i have ever done was with a band from Indonesia called To-Die who are a full band that play political crusty punk sounding music with grindcore and experimental elements to it. 50wtkm has done splits with bands and artists of many different genres from all over the world and some of these releases are ultra rare. 50wtkm continued to play shows as a one-piece around the local long island area until November of 2004 i stayed up one night and in 12 hours put together a full album that totally sounded like shit. That album was called 50 more ways to die for satan and i made a temporary version with dumpster-DVD cases before the later fecal-matter discorporated re-release to do a tour for. This was 50wtkms first tour. I was playing drums in a thrashy punky/old school hardcore type of band called Eyes of Hate and so we did this small 9-day tour in the end of 2004 and beginning of 2005. There was even a new years show, which was booked by Jeff Pinkus of the Butthole Surfers. With this tour, 50wtkm usually opened up the show, then Eyes of Hate, then Verbal Abuse, the old classic hardcore band from the 80s, would headline. All the shows were in Texas except one in New Orleans. The 50wtkm set list contained old songs but mostly songs off of 50 more ways to die for satan and a few off of the future album which ends up being called Legalize Suicide. The live show included nudity, slamming my dick in a bible, throwing chairs, and sex with a blow-up doll. Drugs and sex with strangers before or after performances were seldom. On tour is when i met The Rev, the owner of Fecal-Matter Discorporated. I had talked to him on the internet but it was a first for meeting him in person. Once i returned from tour in the beginning of 2005, thats when i focused on the re-releases i mentioned earlier. Even though the original versions of my releases would cost me basically nothing to produce, which was good because i could sell so many of them for so cheap, i couldnt get around the fact that they looked like shit, and i wanted to prove that DIY, non-major-label artists could really make magic happen, without it even having to be a real professionally duplicated cd. So as full colour cd-rs, thats when fecal-matter discorporated re-released that old stuff looking all nice and fancy. I am very proud to have worked with a label that also put out a Jean Louis Costes release. Costes has been a pioneer of Noise for decades. Eventually some more line-up experimentation took place. It was I on vocals and keyboard, 2 guitar players and a drummer. Before ever getting to record or play live our drummer quit so this didnt last long. When will I learn my lesson!? Later that year i met Vaniell N. Jono, a great man who i have collaborated with on different music projects. He often now plays guitar on 50wtkm material for splits that are over-seas. Later in mid 2005, i headed out for 50wtkms second tour. This one was also 50wtkm, Eyes Of Hate, and Verbal Abuse; only this time around the tour was a lot longer. It was 40 days and 40 nights across the United States, everywhere from Florida, to Texas, to California. Lots of gigs were canceled. Every night alcohol was drunk. The live show included nudity, sex with a different blowup-doll than the last time, and at one show feces were even eaten! In October 2005 the real version of 50 more ways to die for satan finally came out on Halloween. That same month i played a show in a basement that lasted over an hour and 50 songs were played. It was the longest performance Ive ever done. In 2005, 50wtkm puts out a release on a label from Germany called New Amerika Records. The release was a split with Kingdom Cum (Tim Berresheim and well known German artist Jonathan Meese). This is 50wtkms first release on a professionally duplicated CD and Red Vinyl, but i would like to continue doing more DIY formats as well, in fact, this is all around the same time that the third album Legalize Suicide is finally complete, as a full colour CDR on Fecal Matter Discorporated. In 2006 50wtkm does a series of shows in a month. It was like a tour only I went back home to New York in between most of the shows. The lineup for the tour was 50 ways to kill me, a joke band called Gods Stretched Out Rectal Cavity who I was drumming for, and The Kenneth Keith Kallenbach band who I was also drumming for. Many people recognize Kenneth Keith for being a regular on the Howard Stern TV show since the early 90s. 50wtkm later releases its fourth album on New Amerika called Fun Funeral which is another split with Tim Berresheim and Jonathan Meese. Its a double disk with their material on one disk and my full length on the other disk. I made 2 music videos for songs on that album and they can be found on the disk when you pop it into your computer. The album came out on the 6th of June in the year 2006, therefore being the date of the number of the beast, 06/06/06. I also continue to do numerous split albums with extremely obscure unknown bands/artists from all around the globe. Though 50wtkm started off as a joke to make a girl laugh, its getting more about using comical yet catchy songs to promote propaganda of my political agenda which is complete Human Extinction. I try to educate my audience on issues such as Vasectomy, Abortion and how it should be Mandatory, Environmental issues, Masturbation, Condoms/Pulling out. I know it sounds funny, but the population is increasing at a staggering rate. At one show on Long Island there was a projector that displayed imagery in the background of starving children while my fans and I had a gigantic food fight. Controversy is sometimes the only way to grab a persons attention and to get them to wake up.
