Bio:
Lowprofile are a skate punk band from Durban , active since early 2004.
After 3 years worth of countrywide shows, 2 albums and a jingle for South African radio legend Barney Simon's Tuks FM show the band continue to relentlessly write, record and perform a mix of classic melodic punk, ska, rock and most recently, metal.
Despite an encouraging response to self-recorded Talk To Strangers album (2005), which saw interviews for East Coast Radio and Blunt Magazine, a track included on an SL Magazine compilation and which still yields at least three of the songs most frequently requested live, the band have progressed towards a more polished style with stronger riffs and greater variation. This is reflected on both the most recent release - the 7 track EP Wings! Don’t Fail Me Now, and in the live shows which exhibit a far greater degree of showmanship.
From the beginning Lowprofile disowned the generic post-grunge singing style favoured by South African bands, an influencial move which gives Durban punk a distinctive sound.
Lowprofile are currently working on a music video for Wings! Don't Fail Me Now, for inclusion with the remastered EP of the same name.
