Bio:
www.mabuhayrecords.c om was born on the day of "Pope Of Punk" Promoter Dirk Dirksen's Memorial Service, Dec 2, 2006. Dirk presented a minimum of 3 bands a night, 7 days a week for a decade of PUNK in San Francisco at Mabuhay Gardens & The On Broadway from 1976 -1986. Former Mabuhay Gardens sound man Ted Oliphant founded Mabuhay Records on the day of Dirk's Memorial Service so Dirk's legacy would no be lost. It all started when Ted told CRIME's Johnny Strike & Hank Rank that he was going to release a CD of former CRIME drummer Brittley Black's band The Next. "What Label are you going to put it out on?" asked Hank. "I don't know, maybe we'll start Mabuhay Records!" Everyone's eyes lit up. That conversation led to the birth of www.mabuhayrecords.c om
