GirlPunk.Net is in the works to release it's first ever compilation. The 80 minute compilation aims to promote and expose female fronted punk bands who are currently unsigned and want to get their music out there.
We are looking for bands willing to submit a free track to the compilation. Because this compilation is meant to serve as an exposure platform, bands will NOT be paid for their track submission, nor will they recieve any copies of the cd's (though bands may purchase copies for the wholesale price through GirlPunk.Net).
We are looking for unsigned bands that wish to increase their fan base. Bands must be female fronted, and of the punk, emo, hardcore genre. We are looking for tracks that are not currently available on the internet as mp3's, although we will accept tracks that have been featured on other compilations or releases, as long as they are not under contract and the property of the band.
Bands may submitt more than one track for consideration. However, each track must also be accompanied by an individual release statement which will be outlined below. This means, if you submitt three tracks, you must also submitt three release statements.
Bands will space in the album booklet to promote their band.
For consideration in being added to this compilation, please send the following information via postal mail:
1. A burned copy of the track(s). Recordings are not expected to be professionally polished, but should be clear and meet a satisfactory standard.
2. A typed statement that reads "The members of (insert band name) give permission to GirlPunk.Net to include the recording entitled (insert track name) on the WHEN GIRLS ATTACK! Official GirlPunk.Net Compilation Vol. 2 release. We understand we will not be compensated in any way for this contribution, and will instead recieve promotion and exposure in place of monetary or merchandise compensation. This recording is currently not available for free download on the internet. It is also under complete ownership of the band and including the track on the above name release will not infringe on any other copyrighted material this track may currently appear on. It is also understood that the band retains all rights to this recording, and that GirlPunk.Net will not further distribute the recording in any other form without permission." At the end of this typed statement, please have all band members sign and date the release form.
3. On a seperate piece of paper, please include a 500 word advertisement for your band. This can be anything you want. It can be a thank you list, it can be more info (such as a portin of your band bio), it can be a message to fans, it can be a plug for you current or past releases, whatever you want. The only restriction is that you are limited to 500 words. Also, please include your band's official website url and the end of the statement. This will not be included in your 500 word limit.
