In the true punker spirit of "fuck-off-and-die-i sm," many locals are too harsh and often treat others with a "You scratch my back, and I'll smack you in the face," type of attitude. Any aide, given or received, comes with cruel intentions, back-handed deals, and money-mongering ideals. This kind of capitalist, elitist, and oppressive action is taken often against punks in Atlanta. The fact that we are unemployed, unaided, and misunderstood, makes the true idea of DiY impossible. Because of mistrust, hatred, and rivalries locals are rarely looking to help each other. Unfortunately the the concept of, "punks unite," is lost in the region. Because you don't rap you are screwed. Being slapped down, turned away, and generally disliked crushes perseverance and motivation. This is why the radio is not given the volume of music of which is possible.
