When was the birth of Punk?
Many people feel the punk scene came out of NYC and CBGB's but the name "Punk" really was not coined until 1976 when Legs McNeil and John Holmstrom used the name"Punk" for their new magazine and the Ramones played the Roundhouse in England on July 4th. It has been told this is believed to have ignited the UK punk scene with bands like The Sex Pistols and The Clash and it was officially recognized as a style of music. Do you think is is accurate of the scene goes back further like the MC5, NY Doll, Stooges? Lets get some input here people.....
