Scene 2
Scene II: Ashley
A nineteen- year-old girl awakens and stretches. Screen cuts to her downstairs making coffee, and then cuts to her sitting down on the couch and turning on the TV. A news program is on, currently the weather.
Newscaster: Well, Jim, as you can see by the map, a cold front is moving in, so we can expect lots of showers and thunderstorms over the next week or so.
Girl (sarcastically): Great…(sets down coffee mug as there’s a thud at the door)
The girl stands up and answers the door. The newspaper has arrived. The girl walks back into her house, scanning the front page. Bored with it already, she throws it away. She resumes her spot on the couch. 15 seconds after she sits down, the phone rings.
Girl: Fuck!
She rises and walks off camera to go and answer the phone. Camera cuts to her picking up the phone.
Girl: Hello?
Girl on phone: Hey Ashley! What’s up?
Ashley: (sits back down on the couch) Hey Leah. Nothing much. Bored as fuck here. I haven’t heard from you for a while, what’s been up?
Leah: Eh, you know same old cock and bull here. Busy with…(sly voice) certain affairs (giggles)
Ashley: (giggles as well) I didn’t know Aaron was classified on “certain affairs” now. Or is that your code word? (laughs a little)
Leah: (breathes a laugh) Hardly. But I called to ask you if you wanted to come and hang out at the bar today with us. You know, girls night out!
Ashley: I don’t drink. It’s a bad omen for me. Remember?
Leah: Aw, come on girl! Loosen up, and live a little! You can do it!
Ashley: No, I won’t drink. It’s what killed my sister, so I’m going to the bookstore, same as always.
Leah: You’re at that bookstore every damn day. You buy a new book all the time. Haven’t you read every book ever made yet? (laughs)
Ashley: Not every day! And I have not read all the books yet. I don’t think it’s possible to read every book ever made.
Leah: All right, well, I have to go, Aaron’s awake now, and I think he’s hungry for something.
Ashley: Eww!!!!!!!
Leah: (laughs) Not like that you perv!!
Ashley: Sure, okay. Well, Later.
Leah: Later.
Ashley now hangs up the phone, placing it on the couch next to her. She sighs heavily, and then exits the room, heading toward the bathroom. Screen fades to black, and then fades back as Ashley is styling her hair. She is wearing a lot of black eyeliner, short black shorts, and a white tank top. She walks into her bedroom and pulls off her shorts, and into a pair of dark blue denim jeans, and a black t-shirt that adorned the band name Pink Floyd. She pulled on her black high-top Converses. She then grabbed her car keys and headed out the door.

Scene 1
Scene I: Introduction
Scene starts with a home movie. Screen flickers to indicate a very old projector. The movie is showing a four-year-old girl having a birthday party. Her name is Sara. As she blows out her candles, a baby girl begins to cry off screen. The mother curses and walks quickly off screen from where she had been standing behind her daughter. Sara still laughs, the screens fades out and then back in to show another home video. Seventeen-year-old Sara is walking out of her house, again, on her birthday. She sees a shiny new dark blue ’69 Dodge Charger sitting in her driveway with a large red bow on the hood. She screams excitedly as her younger sister sulks in the doorway. She had not received much for her birthday, which was nothing more than a month previous. Sara excitedly gets the keys, kisses her father, then jumps in the car, and pulls out of the driveway. Screen fades to black.
