Who
Some friends created a banda called Lavage in 2003. The main purpose since the beginning is “play rock just for fun and without much responsability”. Now Lavage is composed by Bruno Andrade (vocals), Taumaturgo Moura and Everardo Maia (guitars), Rafael Maia (bass) and Rogério Ramos (drums).
The sound
Intitled as “anti-style”, Lavage’s rock sounds like classic punk rock from the 70’s and the 80’s, the same rock played by Ramones, The Clash, Sex Pistols and Dead Kennedys. The old punk rock receives contributions from other tendencies of the modern rock, like rap core, hard core, new metal and indie rock. The result is a mutant sound, too hard to be classified in strict cultural concepts and categories. The songs (lyrics + noise) explore social problems and human fellings, like pain, anguish and despair in relation to modern life.
Work
Lavage does the “old indie way” in order to produce demo CD’s. Since the first demo CD, recorded in 2003, the band controls all the process of production of the discs. All the rcords are made in the guitarrist’s own studio. The main objective is: work calmer (without hard dead lines) and keep the sound pure, dirty and louder.
Long way
In the road since 2003, Lavage has released two demo CD’s. The most recent album, called “Consumocracia”, released in March (2007), has been well accept for the media and all audiences. Including six new songs (in Portuguese and English), the new album has a big surprise: a bonus track including No final’s clip. In the future the band wants to travel to other states and countries to the new album.
Shows
Since 2003 until now, Lavage has played in important events at Ceará. In 2005 and 2006 Lavage played at “Feira da Música de Fortaleza”. In 2006, the band has also played at I Mostra de Música de Fortaleza Petrúcio Maia, event organized by the government. In 2006 and 2007, Lavage was a part of Forcaos, the biggest rock show at Ceará that is organized every year by Associação Cultural Cearense do Rock (ACR). Lavage also loves playing in small rock parties and gigs in Fortaleza’s suburb and nearby cities.
