  • Graceful Soft Child

Shallow as the graceful soft child
I drift in the breeze as the whispers of God unfold

Dreams pass me by in a swift memory
leaving no trace of ever being there

The twinkle of your fingers is enough breeze
    that the memory can bring
The flick of your billows in the season
    providing shelter from the rain

    Calmly and cooly you descend
    holding your hand toward me
and your heart in the air

shallow as the graceful soft child
I drift in the breeze as the whispers of God unfold

  • More College = More Money + More Power
    Women have power!!!

Women first outnumbered men in colleges and universities in the mid-1970s. By 1997, according to the Chronicle of Higher Education, this country's total college population stood at 44 percent male, 56 percent female.

In the 1990s, the number of B.A.s earned by men rose by 8 percent. The number earned by women rose by 28 percent. In that same decade, the number of men enrolled in graduate programs went up 22 percent, but the number of women increased 66 percent. The number of part-time college students went up 1 percent among males, and 17 percent among females.

Since 1997, the trend has only accelerated. By 2009, predicts the National Center for Education Statistics, the male-to-female ratio within the college population will reach 39 to 61 percent.

  • Too Old To Be Young

    Momma, i am old now
    old and dried out
my back hurts, my brain is fried
and my face is all wrinkly and dry

I done seen my fair share of baby bottoms and books
but what i ain't seen yet is my baby girl smilin'

I knows you is up there next to papa and sissy
    but momma,
    my baby needs you!

I brought her up too soon
I taught her life in return for her innocence
my baby dont play, she dont talk, and she dont love

What did i do to her momma?
    ...what did i do?

  • Triangles in the Eyes of an Outsider

*Sigh* One of my friends is going to get hurt soon. I have no clue what in the heck to do. I want to help her, but do i get involved? Do i stick up against the dick she is going out with? Get this, the girl i am worried about it going out with one of my other good friends' ex boyfriend. Complicated isnt it? I don't quite understand why in the world friends would do that to each other. I know that i wouldn't. That would put my friendship with the person in too much jepordy. (sp) I hope that things work out for the best and no one gets hurt...:s
