real punks stand up for emo kids!
right this is where i lay it down. if you listen to, and i mean "listen" to bands like dead kennedys, anti-flag, nofx....basically a punk band with a staunch anti-fascist, pro leftist beliefs, and you adhere to them, then this is it- you like emo kids.
now im sure a lot of you right now are almost ready to throw something into the computer screen after reading that blasphemy that has all of a sudden crippled you sense of self worth, ill be quick.
jello...rotten, they're anarchist, right? aswell, they’re anti-conformists, and if your punk (im not going to go into the issue of posers now) your anti-conformist as well. now a lot of you will argue that emo kids are just being "emo" because they think its cool, and you know... you may be right, but the fact is that everyone hates them, fuck, its dangerous for them to walk down the street at night! and in the face of violent attacks i.e (beat of an emo day), they still are emo, listen to emo music, and dress emo (tight black jeans and all) now if this isn’t the most powerful example of anti-conformist behavior since the hay-day of punk rock well i donno what is.
basically my argument is this. you can still be a punk and not hate emos. in fact if you are a leftist-punk, then its almost a prerequisite for you to not hate emos, i mean, planning a day where everyone goes around kicking emos ass's just because theyre emo...sounds like the third reich to me.....what happened to anti-fascism?! fuck the jock culture man, if you see a kid getting a hard time coz hes wearing an AFI t-shirt think about how punk rockers where so kindly welcomed into 1970's society, lets see how hard-core you really are...
