Under Pressure
School. A place of great pressure, where it is put on you through work, and, by the population of students.
First and foremost, I have to get this out of the way, my personal philosophy, is that at school, you should be who you are, and not change to be friends with, say, the "cool"
person (if you change who you are to become popular, then really, your not being friends with anybody, your just lying to a lot of people).
Now, consider this: Posers are people who try to act like, and dress like people of a sub-culture. Those people are often seen through, and kicked out of that sub-culture. These people are often trying to find out who they really are, and , once they discover their not, say, an emo, then they go to another culture and try to fit in.
I believe that the sub-culture that you are of is in the heart, not the clothes, or expressions you use.
For instance, a person who has philosophies that are not shared by a great number, could be considered a punk, for they believe in things that almost all others dont. The same could go for people who simply hate fashion.
So dont mentally kill posers. They are simply trying to fit into the jigsaw puzzle of life. But, for gods sake, dont give them another chance, for if once not a punk, NEVER a punk.

A Short comment on Life
Life is something of mystery, and should have but one meaning: To make the most of it.
Every person says something different on how to make the most of life, such as being yourself (which is a personal philosophy that I strongly believe in), being nice to everyone, making alot of money, keeping in style. The last example though, is one of much thought to me, for style, or fashion, changes as fast as life moves itself, so how could fashion make the most of your life? I dont beleive that, for, as my first example states, I beleive you should be yourself. But what if being styleized is being yourself?
What a perplexing Issue.

Fashion?
Fashion is something that has integrated into culture as we know it. It has been proven that people who look better receive more attention, and thus have easier lives. I believe this shows us how horrid our race has become. Sure, you could say that it is instinct that drives people to go to the more attractive. But I thought that we had gone past the stage of evolution where we only aided to our primal needs and wants?
This is also something that is speculated with punks, for, we are supposed to rebel against fashion. Some people say that we do, tho, undoutably have a fashion of our own (piercings, t-shirts, tight or baggy clothing depending on your comfort fit), but I beleive that we have, not a style, but more of a pattern, a pattern that shows that we want to be different from everybody else, and, in fact, are. Just because we dont look up to (*shudder* sorry, but I have to say "It's" name) Paris Hilton doesnt mean were bad, or weird , or freaky. It means we have different views on different subjects, and I can't wait until people get that into their heads.
